Based on a sporty rear-wheel-drive platform, the Pontiac G8 comes powered by V6 and V8 engines, handles excellently, yet rides comfortably, and offers remarkable built quality.
For 2009, the Pontiac G8 lineup is expanded by a flagship GXP version. The Pontiac G8 GXP comes powered by a Corvette-sourced 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 402 hp that is optionally mated to a six-speed manual. The GXP also features Brembo brakes for improved stopping power.
In addition, all models come with XM satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity as standard.

The 2009 Pontiac G8 Sedan is powered by a base 3.6-liter V6 with 256 hp. Other available engines include a 6.0-liter V8 with 361 hp and a 6.2-liter V8 with 402 hp.
