OVERVIEW
Based on the Toyota Corolla, the Matrix offers seating for five, a large trunk, a choice of 4-cylinder engines, optional all-wheel-drive, and good handling.
The Toyota Matrix is completely redesigned for 2009. Only slightly larger than its predecessor, the new Matrix comes with edgier styling and a new engine for better-equipped trims. Rear disc brakes are now standard across the line, while stability control is standard only on AWD and XRS versions.

The 2009 Toyota Matrix Crossover is powered by a base 1.8-liter Inline-4 with 132 hp. Also available is a 2.4-liter Inline-4 with 158 hp.
